Our 5 senses!

Today it was so funny in Science class. On February, kids from 1st grade of Primary will be working everything about the Five Senses.
Last day we created a poster with all the class and learnt that our five senses are related with different parts of our face and body.
Today, we all made a video about it! Kids had to say:
- I can (action) with my (part of the body).

We had a really good time doing it and they learnt so fast the English structures!
Here you are some of the videos the teacher recorded in the classroom:

Types of food in 1st grade

On January, children from 1st grade have been working about food in Science. They all together created a big poster with the different types of food. They wanted to draw by themselves the aliments and then glued it on the posters.
The final result is so creative and they enjoyed doing it a lot.

Working with Maths in Science!

Hello everyone!
This second term the kids from 2nd grade have been studying the food in Science. Today we have been working Maths doing a graphic all together about eating vegetables.
The kids had to write their name in a piece of paper and they had to come to the front of the class and say:
"I eat vegetables ___ times in a week"

As we can see in the picture, most of the children of 2nd grade eat vegetables few times in a week, but a lot of them eat a lot or everyday.
It was so interesting to see how the graphic was growing at the same time they were explaining to the others the times they eat vegetables in a week.

We decidde to do something related with it to decorate our corridor. Here you have our result!
First I projected on the digital blackboard the final result (how it was supposed to be) so that, the kids could have an idea about what was I talking about.
After, I gave them a piece of cardboard and they had to draw their hands. Then they cut it and stick it on the poster.

Animals project in 3rd grade

At the beginning of the 2nd term, the kids of 3rd grade have been studying in Science all kinds of animals. The teacher divided them in groups and each group had to be an expert of that kind of animals.
During two weeks, children have researched information, brought photos and drawings to class, and during the Science lessons they have been working on their poster. The main objective was to learn about animals but also to know how to work cooperatively and effectively in groups.
At the end of the task, each group had to do an oral presentation about their project. For preparing that, the teacher gave them some clues of how could they begin their exposition and they had to add the information they found for doing their poster.

The result was amazing! They learnt a lot about all kind of animals, they enjoyed working in groups and they prepared such an amazing exposition for all the class!
Here are some photos to prove it:

And the final results!

At the end of the presentations, the teacher prepared a chart where every group had to evaluate the other groups and themselves, doing the exercise of co-evaluation and self-evaluation.
