Plants - observation

In 2nd grade we are still making some observations and experiments with the plants the kids planted in the classroom. Every week we compare all the differences from the week before, we water them and do different observations of the parts of the plants as the roots, stem, leaves, etc.

Look at 2nd grade plants! They have grown so fast!!!

How do you go to school?

In 3rd grade we have been working about "Energy" all this term. Today we did a graphic about our personal use of energy by going to school.
I asked the children to tell the rest of the classmates about which transport they use to go to school every day.
They spoke in English in front of the class and later they put their name on the graphic so we could see which transport was the main used by kids.

Plants project in 1st grade

In first grade, last week and this current week we have been doing a project about plants. In groups, they had to think about a plant they liked and draw it in a cardboard. They had to write down the parts of the plants they already know and finally, they did an oral presentation in class about their plant.

Here you are the different groups with their posters:

Plants poster in 2nd grade

Last week, in 2nd grade all boys and girls made a poster all together about the plants. I cut out some parts of the plant and also some conditions that plants need to grow up, and each kid came to the front of the class and put one of the cut-outs on the correct place, saying the name of the part in English.

The activity was so fun and the result was absolutely beautiful!

Plants grown up - Experiment!

This 3rd term, kids from 2nd grade will be working about plants in Science lessons. Today we planted four different plants inside 4 plastic cups and we will be observing and looking plants during this term and studying how they grow up, what do they need for it and kids will be caring of them. Thats why days before we did a list of all the things plants need to grow up.
Today I brought all the materials to plant them and kids were the ones who planted the seeds.
They put some cotton inside the plastic cups, then the lentils and beans seeds and finally more cotton on the seeds. After this process, they watered the plants and we put them in the balcony of the classroom so this weekend the plants will have light, air and sun.

We will be observing during the weeks how they grow up and we will learn through experimenting different changes of the plants.

Here you are some pictures from today:
